So I Did a Little Shopping!

Ok first things first....weekly weigh in, down another pound, so total weight loss to date is 35 lbs. It's kind of strange the way I am losing weight. Meaning, 35 lbs ago, I did not look the way I do now, and things did not fit the way they do now. I'm not complaining, just an observation. Another observation: Things don't taste the same. For example, I LOVED coffee....Dunkins coffee, espresso, even coffee from my Keurig that I love oh so much. Now, I really don't like it. Maybe it's because I used to drink it "regular", 2 sugars and cream. Now I use Splenda, (which I have used for quite some time, just not in coffee) and I have sugar free flavored CoffeeMate. Nope, not working for me. Olives, I also love. I usually will get a mixed container of Kalamata, Gaeta and Sicilian olives. Kalamatas, too strong for me, so I stick to the milder tasting Sicilian olive. Parmesan cheese. I use grated Romano usually, but sometimes I like melted Parmesan on stuff. Nope. Turns my stomach. I have read that after gastric bypass surgery sometimes your taste buds change, and that sometimes you don't like things that you used to. Also, since I quit smoking, I don't know if that contributes to it in any way. Oh well, at least it's stuff that really isn't bothering me. Instead of drinking coffee, I drink tea.
So I went shopping today. Really, I didn't want to. I have had 2 pairs of jeans that I have been wearing for like 3-4 years. They are definately getting too big, but both, not just one, finally had enough and starting to rip from wear, and not in a good way, like on the inner thigh part. So, I needed new jeans. I did pull out a pair of jeans from a few years ago that have not fit, and today went on quite easily. Also, I had a very cute raincoat that has not been able to fit, and I wore it easily today. Back to shopping. I just went to The Avenue for jeans. They were having a sale, and I did not want to pay a lot of money since I won't be wearing them all that long before I need new ones. I got 2 pair, in a size 20! I never thought I would be happy to wear a size 20, but since I was wearing a size 26 5 weeks ago, I am quite happy with that!
Shoes. I love shoes. If you have ever been overweight and could not wear the types of clothes you wanted to, shoes and accesories are where you made up for it. Especially the shoes for me. High heels, sexy heels, cute heels, skinny, thick, wedge, chunk, you name it I loved it all. And when my feet could not support the weight in heels, and the weight I had gained had changed the way I walk, I had to give them up for flats. That was pretty devestating. I recently saw a really cute pair of sandals, that had a pretty high heel, and I ordered them, hoping I would be able to wear them this summer

I LOVE them and guess what? I CAN WALK IN THEM! I know for most people, it's not a big deal, but it is to me! My shoes are back!!! So, I went and bought another pair,

By the way, the first pair is Nine West "Fushia" and the second pair is Jessica Simpson "Astor". I can't wait to wear them! Sorry for such a long post!
