Almost...tomorrow will officially be 1 month since I had gastric bypass surgery. I cannot believe how quickly it has gone by! 1 month down and 30 lbs gone! Let's talk about what has changed in the last month....
1. I lost 30 lbs. I don't think I have been able to say that in years and years and years!
2. My clothes fit better. People ask me how many sizes I have dropped. I did not drop any sizes yet, just the clothes I have been wearing actually fit me now instead of being too tight, as I was too embarrased to buy the correct size in clothing that I needed.
3. My jewelry fits! How often do you hear that? Probably not too often. My Tiffany necklace now fits me again, my bracelets fit around my wrists again, and my wedding rings are starting to get loose.
4. I am back to caring about how I look. Maybe that's the wrong term...I always cared about how I looked, but kind of gave up on it for a while because it seemed like there was nothing I could do to make myself look better. I am back to wearing make up everyday, doing my hair, getting my hair done, and I love it.
5. I want to go out! I no longer want to hide inside the house so that the rest of the world can't see me. I want to go out, I want to do things, I want to have fun! We just planned my birthday party at Shrine at the MGM Foxwoods. I would never have done that before. A month ago, if someone invited me there I would have cringed and found any excuse not to go, now I can't wait to go!
6. I'm happy.
Most people take for granted these kinds of things. When your extremely overweight, these are things that are always on your mind, and when something happens like your bracelet fits, or you have again found enjoyment in putting on makeup, it's a really big deal. And it's only been a month and 30 lbs. I can't wait to see what the next few months bring!
